Ask Yourself These Questions!
• Can you imagine being one of those 5 children, living in poverty with nothing to look forward to? That’s 5 children out of every classroom of 25 children, the national average. These kids hide their stories!
• Can you imagine what it’s like to want to give presents, but there isn’t even an art program in school anymore, so you can make your parent a ceramic dish or ugly ashtray?
• Can you imagine what it’s like to be 1 of 4 children in that same classroom that goes hungry each night, waiting for their next and probably only meal in the day, their school lunch? That’s 6 kids enduring hunger in that same classroom that has 5 living in poverty.
• Can any of the children really grow when so many of their friends are falling so far behind in learning/studies because of depression, loss of attention, sleep, stress of arguing parents, etc.? These are the same kids getting bullied because they don’t fit in.
• Do we want our children to be bullies or empathetic/compassionate?
• Do we want 17.2 million children suffering this much?
• Is this good for their futures or the future of our national security?
• Can you imagine the guilt, grief, depression, etc. of the parents of those children, unable to provide the basic joy most of us lived and enjoyed during our childhoods?
• Can you imagine the joy that will rise?
